What is real

Your submitted words, pen name, notes, and chosen city can become public. The app sends real holder, creator, reminder, and follow emails. Private action links work on the live site. Invite only people who have agreed to receive a buck.

Some stories have Demo history: earlier hops and places were simulated to demonstrate the idea. Homepage counters include those histories, so they are not a measure of real participant activity.

What is test money

The $2 checkout used to release or fork a story and each $1 handoff run through PayPal's sandbox. They do not charge or transfer real money and cannot be redeemed. If a test payout says UNCLAIMED, the game may still treat the handoff as delivered; that is not evidence that a real dollar reached an account.

PayPal sandbox notifications do not arrive in ordinary live email inboxes. The invitation from Four Word Pass is the useful email for following the story. Learn more in PayPal's sandbox documentation.

How to try it

1. Read a story in the wild. Browsing does not require an account or payment.
2. If you claim a buck, use an email you control. Keep its holder link private and follow the in-app word counter.
3. To release or fork a buck, use a PayPal sandbox personal buyer account at the PayPal checkout. Sandbox accounts are created through the PayPal developer tools; ordinary live credentials are not the testing credentials.
4. Add four content words and pass only to an invited recipient, or release to the wild. Allow time for the test payout and email to arrive.

If you do not have a sandbox buyer account, you can still read public stories. Do not create a live payment as a workaround. PayPal sandbox accounts.

Expect rough edges

Test payouts and emails may be delayed or fail. Stories may stall, be moderated, or disappear in a reset. AI output can be wrong or odd. Do not use the beta as a wallet, a place to store important records, or a way to send real money.

Participation is for adults 18 or older and follows our terms. The privacy policy applies to real information submitted during testing.
